Abstract
The purpose of the study was to analyse the content and activities performed in water activity classes as part of the subject of Physical Education and present a proposal for intervention. The participants were 29 secondary education teachers in the Region of Murcia who were given a semi-structured interview concerning issues raised by the analysis of the content and activities that were addressed in aquatics classes. Examination of the content of the interviews showed that swimming and games were taught more at the expense of other content in the subject area such as physical attributes, body expression, motor skills, etc. The findings are discussed and analysed to contextualise the content and activities carried out and form the foundation for putting forward an intervention proposal.
