Abstract
The present article picks up on, partially, the conclusions of a study which touches on a highly topical subject with educative, cultural, social, consumer and political overtones and one of the main objects of concern for parents, educators and society in general: leisure activities, free time and scholastic performance.
We know that today education cannot limit itself only to the scholastic field, but rather exists a free time for our students that is necessary to channel from formal institution to leisure time; a formative time where development, diversion and rest flow together in favour of personal development.
The personalised education favoured by the present educational system tries to prepare the student in all his various sides to become a person.
The dimension of free and leisure time has an important implication in the school curriculum and specially in the Physical Education field, where it is hoped, the cultural knowledge necessary so that this leisure time contributes to a greater personal development, is offered.
