Abstract

The article gives the results of a research conducted in Barcelona about public urban spaces and sport as a source of social networks. Five of these spaces have been observed and in-depth interviews have been conducted with users and people in charge of  their management. Main results are: a) The creation of social networks requires that spaces and sport activities have certain features; b) Social networks are socially homogeneous; We found the following types: family networks, friends, immigration, wellness and post moderns; and 3. Relationship between social networks are of tolerance and respect concerning the agreed norms.
