Abstract
Trapped in the modernity, sports teaching continues to sail between the objectivist reasons of behaviorism and the interpretive reasons of cognitivism, two hegemonic educational theories that rely on the existence of a universal truth or logic. In this article we carry out a critical review of these paradigms in order to demonstrate how their deterministic suppositions have reduced or limited sports development. Instead of them and as an alternative, we propose moving towards relational teaching which on ecological grounds enables us to successfully meet the educational challenges of sport in the postmodern era.
