Abstract
The article deals with the study of human motion in the practice of outdoor physical activities and sports firstly, it studies the features that shape the identity of the family of activities in the natural environment, and which make them different from the rest of physical and sportslike activities. Then it reveals the keys to the behaviour of the practising individual, highlighting the human mechanisms that are made use of most commonly. Finally, from the starting point of the parallelism between their distinctive features and the needs they satisfy, we will try to clarify their meaning as leisure time and recreational outdoor activities, in An Attempt to understand the reasons that have led to their appearance and the Outstanding development they are undergoing nowadays.
