It is difficult to answer the proposed question from a general point of view because of the heterogeneity and permanent evolution of sport. From this starting point questions related with the sustainability of sport are analysed. It is very difficult to control sport evolution and to ensure its ideals, values and ethical basis. Sport, and especially top-level sport, is confronted with external requirements, interests and expectatives that are not compatible with sport ethics. These external influences make difficult the achievement of the equal opportunities principle and the respect of human dignity in sport. However, the problem is that if sport does not respect anymore this equality principle and the dignity of sport people it will loose its credibility.
