Abstract
The article that is inmediately presented makes an exhaustive social-historical revision of the physical education at school in Argentina and its implications in relation to masculine and feminine bodies during 1880-1990. The analysis identify a group of body practise that has had an active rol in the process of gender: gymnastics and military exercise, scouting, Argentinian system of physical education, gymnastics method, folk dance and sports. These and other body practises contributed, especially, in the construction of masculinities and feminities, excluding, silencing and omitting other possible alternatives to live and to experiment the masculinity and femininity.
