Abstract

In the present investigation, the physical fitness in 91 female handball players was analised, in ages between 13 and 18 years, distributed in three different categories, infantile (n = 30), cadet (n = 32) and juvenile (n = 29). The investigation has descriptive and traverse character. The aim of this study was to evaluate the conditional structure of the female handball players. For his valuation there the Eurofit battery, Bosco’s battery and Abalakov’s test was applied. There were significant differences between the infantile-cadet categories in five of the 14 studied variables, and none between the cadet-juvenile categories. The best results took place in the juvenile category. In general, the remaining variables always reached better values that the school population (in those variables in which the comparison was possible), but worse that the values presented by the female handball players of the Spanish national team. In the tests that valued the power of lower extremities, the results indicate that in the older category the differences are minor between categories.
