Abstract
This paper presents non-experimental, descriptive and correlational research that uses a questionnaire called CUESTNOLEC as a tool for gathering information in order to describe the features of sports facilities located in 41 primary schools in Malaga province, and to examine relationships between variables related to the use of these facilities outside school hours. We look at the factors that most directly affect the use of the school sports facilities, their conditions of access and levels of participation in physical activity outside school hours. In most of the schools studied this type of sports facility hosts a range of activities based on traditional sports and geared towards students at the school concerned. The facilities are not used up to their full potential, something which is associated with significant structural deficiencies.
