Abstract
The present article develops critical perspective of the term “body practices”. We intend to offer some ideas that will contribute to clarify and consolidate the theoretical dimension in Physical Education. The analysis applied uncovers -from a epistemological perspective- the reductionist sense of the term “body practices” pointing to its limitations and inaccuracies, underlining that the use of certain expressions always reveals -implicitly or explicitly- the underlying theory, and warning that to continue accepting certain terms without previous screening might distort unnecessarily the highly educational meaning of Physical Education in the teaching sphere.
