Talent detection o development? Factors which motivate a new orientation of the process of talent detection

Abstract
Nowadays, we can find, in the specialised literature, that talent detection has developed to a new orientation. In this way, we have passed from a traditional orientation, “top-down”, in which it was analysed the sportsmen’s characteristics who had reached high performance for establish a framework that allow us to develop some test; to a new orientation, “bottom-up”, that it tries to analyse the career of the sportsmen to find some variables that have established differences between the subjects. In this article, we try to explain the causes that have bring us to this new approach and, that, nowadays, it take us to think in the talent detection process like a process of formation and we talk about promotion and talent development.
