Abstract
The greenways are former railway lines converted into non-motorized infrastructures for sports-tourist use. Spain has 2,100 kilometres of them in which to plan activities and/or trips. We studied fifteen upgraded greenways in Andalusia to analyse the usage-visit model of the athletes-tourists who use them. We used a quantitative non-experimental, sectional and descriptive method. To compile data we used a survey and the instrument for this was a questionnaire. With an infinite population (N=∞) and a sample of n=457, divided into stratified sampling, we established a sampling error of em=±4.68% and a confidence level of 95.5% (2 ?), assuming a standard deviation p/q=50%. The response rate was 100%. The results confirm that the profile matches mostly men, aged between 36 and 50, of Spanish nationality, who are married or living with their partner, active and employed, with primary school education, without a disability and whose main forms of transport are walking and/or cycling and they are accompanied.
