Abstract
Jose Maria Cagigal was a thinker and an intellectual who has left his mark in the areas of knowledge corresponding to the human sciences that we have considered: philosophy, psychology, psychopedagogy, sociology and prospective. Despite frequently being considered a philosopher and a pedagogue, Cagigal cannot be professionally pigeonholed into any of the assigned disciplines, nor did he belong to any ideological tendency or movement nor any political party. Above all, he was a humanist who made use of the different human sciences and applied them to Sport and to physical education, through a philosophical interpretation.
