Abstract
An extensive bibliography exists concerning play. Ludic activity has been studied from all fields and areas of knowledge and many authors have published theories on the origin, values and other characteristics of play, but almost all of them have been done from a utilitarist point of view, when nothing could be further from the very essence of play and, by extension, its natural development: sport.
