Abstract

he aim of this work is to describe patterns for the practice of physical activities outside school, in a sample of children and teenagers. We have analysed different variables of physical activity in relation to gender and age. The results show that girls are physically less active than boys and that participation in physical activities and in sports outside school decreases from the age of 13.
In the boys group, being an active member of a sports club is related to the practice of sport. At the same time, being an active member of a sports club and the intention of being active in the future is related to the practice of intense physical activity.
In the girls group, being an active member of a sports club, participating in competitions and the intention of being active in the future, is related to the practice of sport. On the other hand, the same as in the boys group, being an active member of a sports club and the intention of being active in the future is related to the practice of intense physical exercise.
