Abstract

Water polo is an aquatic team sport, subject to rules and institutionalised, played on the limited surface of a swimming pool between two groups of seven field players (6 players and a goalkeeper) and with the aim of introducing the ball in the opposing net. The object of the study is centred on the praxical analysis of the game action of 10 water polo matches in the preliminary stage and semi-finals of the Olympic Games, Barcelona, 1992, which helped us to establish the coeficients of offensive and defensive evaluation, for the quantification of the praxis of whatever team game. To do it, it was necessary to establish a way that will grafically or textually to represent the sequences of game action effected by players of a sport team, and that could catch all the praxical development of the game -the Praxiograma- which will study the Praxical Actions of Sport carriers of an Explicit, Internal Logic.
As a consequence of this method we could establish the offensive and defensive coeficients of a team sport that allowed us to quantify the technical actions and tactics that we consider more relevant to our work. The evaluation via offensive and defensive coeficients is a new method to study and analysis of sports of co-operation and opposition that provide concrete information about specific actions in a game, and can be useful to the technician. In this way, the results of those coeficients in the
Olympic Games, Barcelona 92, could be a point of departure and a valid contribution so that other investigators position and make correlation studies on analysis to improve said coeficients or the creation of others more relevant in their team sport.
The possibility derives from this study to make praxiograms by computer methods and thereby realize a rapid treatment of the facts and direct and relevant
information for the technician. From the data forms or sheets are generated the papers of the classification of facts and those of interaction attack defence, as well
as the graphics and all the statistical treatment that one wants to look at in the match or competition to be analized. Besides praxiogramatic results considered, this study is presented as a method at the reach of technicians and high level trainers, to optimising the performance of their players and teams, from an exhaustive knowledge of each one of the game plays made during a game.
