Abstract

In this article, by reflecting on women situation and by doing a documentary revision, we try to present which sort of Ph.E. Was proposed during the Francoism. We also want to deal with the ideological foundations and principles that determined a clear gender education. In particular, we will focus on the values that were assigned to women, in order to establish the most “adequate” relation with the model of physical activity proposed to them. The social norms were imposed from above (the educational authorities), without retort possibility, reason why their members had to assume them and to accept them. The relations between both genders were coded and registered in the mind of the people, authenticated by a propagandistic and formative process; mainly through the education, and in particular with the Physical education and the sport.
