Abstract
The increasing importance of water-based physical exercise provides the rationale for research on the users of indoor swimming pools. The study sample consisted of 215 subjects, who were administered a questionnaire. The main goal of this research was to analyse the profile of the users and their perceptions of these facilities. Demographic changes were identified in comparison to previous publications as regards the gender and age of users. In addition, information was obtained on the use made of swimming pools, participation in organised water activities and means of transportation to the facility, among others. The results of this study have direct implications for the management and operation of indoor swimming pools.
