Abstract
The objective of this study is to analyze the time and gestural structure of kin-ball and quantify the number of hits, plays, points, and types of contact that are made in each period and match. We analyzed a total of 13 games in the group, semifinals and final of the 7th Spanish Kin-Ball Championship. Kin-ball is a sport that involves performing intervallic efforts of moderate to high intensity and short duration. A kin-ball game has an average duration of about 46 minutes, with a ratio of working time and rest time of 1:1.51 and an average duration by point of 12.07 seconds. Hence a kin-ball match has a volume of 73 points with total of 390 hits. The hit types used mean that kin-ball is a defensive sport. This analysis provides better understanding of this sport for coaches and players to enable more specific training.
