Abstract

The aim of this study was to know leisure time physical activity patterns and their sociodemographic determinants (sex, age, study level and job status) and attitudinal determinants (interest in exercise, former physical education and parental attitude in leisure time physical activity) in La Habana (Cuba). In this way, sociodemographic and attitudinal determinans of leisure time physical activity was assessed through a standarized questionnaire in a sample of 1.144 subjects, using stratified polystage sampling method with proportional affixing (±3 %; 95,5% CI). The results showed, first, the increase of leisure time physical activity practice among the people from La Habana, being determinant both sociodemographic and attitudes factors, and second, the Bayesian model showed the relevance of former Physical Education on practice and interest in leisure time physical activity.
