Abstract
We present an analysis or the actions in individual tennis played on a fast surface. From a starting point from work developed on other sports (Alonso, 2001, Argudo, 2000, Hernandez, 1987 and Lloret 1994) we carried out a study of the structural model of the action of the game, identifying sociomotor roles and sub roles in individual tennis and having as an object the study of the possible relations between the technical methods of service, the direction of the ball in these, the different types of return and the direction of the ball. For work in the field we watched 5 matches in the 2001 Men US Open, in the eliminations of the final four, calibrating the actions by way of two control set-ups designed by the author. In the results of this investigative work few significant correlations among the variables studied appeared, therefore during training time all those must be worked.
