Abstract
Sport, as a social institution, embodies and uses the characteristics of the Information and Knowledge Society challenging its position within this new order and social structure, a networked society, shaping as well as becoming integrate in this interdependent system. This article is a first approach to the new characterístics of sport in the Network Society.
