Abstract
The study objective was in the quantitative evaluation of the swimming technique. The participants of a learning to swim program were selected as subjects. Each participant was grouped according their swimming skill level (age average 7 years). Anthropometrical and technical quantitative data was collected in order to differentiate them between gender and level of skill groups. The variables mean speed (V), stroke rate (F) and stroke length (L) at different style variations (crawl stroke, backstroke and flutter kick) were analysed plays the anthropometrics characteristics (age, weight, height and arm-span). The results showed no-significant differences between gender and skill level in most of the variables. No relation was observer between these quantitative results and the qualitative observation applied to group the swimmers according their skill-level.
