Abstract
All the subscribers, readers, authors and editorial team of the journal Apunts. Educación Física y Deportes were shocked by the sudden passing of our friend and director, Dr Javier Olivera Betrán.
His dedication and passion for the journal for the 20 years he spent at its helm forged a unique pathway which we want to maintain and even grow; proof of this is that in February our Publishing and Scientific Quality Seal from FECYT was renewed and REDALYC confirmed our journal’s inclusion in their prestigious database.
With this impetus, as the one who has received the baton in this relay race, we are going to continue to lay out new horizons to ensure that our journal keeps growing as an essential tool for generating knowledge and scientific dissemination of studies on physical activity and sports both nationally and internationally.
