Abstract

Football is in our country, the same as in other states around us, a phenomenon that goes beyond being just a sport to become a social reference that awakens passions and that has its resulting reflex in the media of social communication.
So it is nothing to be amazed at if, every day, the sporting press throughout the country, provides constant information on the subject, including the injuries that the players suffer, considering this information to be of interest in that it could affect the prospects of different teams.
This information, duly collected, systematised and analysed, is capable of providing valuable information on injuries in this sport.
This is precisely the aim of our study, with no other object than to provide guidelines to be taken into account by the professionals whose efforts are centred on bettering performance on the seasons long term planning, on the establishment of prevention programmes and, in short, on the minimisation of injury risks.
