Abstract

The aim of this work is the urbanistic analysis of 30 spaces in which the sporting social networks studied, develop themselves. To achieve this, the key mechanisms in the apparition of a sporting practice will be analysed the design of the planned spaces and their relation with the sporting practices; and, in particular, the relation between the urban project and its environment, the permeability of the limits and the continuity of the hubs of pedestrian connections, the character of the periphery or centre of the sporting activity en the public environment and the role of the urban furniture and installations in the sporting practice. The article brings into evidence the value of parks as spaces of reference, pointing to urban plans associated to sport in public space; the role of the diverse infrastructures as generators of spaces for informal sporting practice, in this way like certain tendencies to repeat determined types of urban installation (baskets, table tennis and petanca) against other practices which would be more welcomed (football and fronton) and in those in which it is not necessary to adhere to standard formats.
