To accomplish this, a questionnaire was administered to 593 students aged 9 to 13. This <em>ad-hoc<\/em> questionnaire consists in 24 items grouped into 5 dimensions. Both the reliability and validity were analyzed using structural equation models with the LISREL 8.8 <em>software<\/em>. The value of the Cronbach\u2019s alpha was 0.899 and the confirmatory factor analysis showed very satisfactory results <em>(X2<\/em>\/gl\u2009=\u20094.47, RMSEA\u2009=\u2009.059, CFI\u2009=\u20090.95; GFI\u2009=\u20090,92; RMR\u2009=\u2009.064). The values of reliability and mean and compound variance showed acceptable indices. Therefore, the instrument fulfils all the technical requirements to be a valid and reliable way to measure gender stereotypes in physical activity and sport.
