{"id":14046,"date":"2020-10-27T12:10:52","date_gmt":"2020-10-27T12:10:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/revista-apunts.com\/?p=14046"},"modified":"2020-11-17T08:29:06","modified_gmt":"2020-11-17T08:29:06","slug":"relationship-between-land-strength-work-and-water-strength-work-in-water-polo-players","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/revista-apunts.com\/en\/relationship-between-land-strength-work-and-water-strength-work-in-water-polo-players\/","title":{"rendered":"Relationship between Land Strength Work and Water Strength Work in Water Polo Players"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Abstract<\/h2>\n\n\n<p>The purpose of this study was to determine if there are any correlations between muscle power of the upper and lower extremities using the peck-deck exercise and leg press with throwing velocity using two different techniques (T1: throwing with initial support of the ball in the water; T2: throwing with double feint), the height and maintained height of jumping and anthropometric characteristics in 9 players from the Catalan water polo team (16.8 \u00b1 0.8 years, body mass 73.5 \u00b1 7.2 kg, height 184.7 \u00b1 7.9 cm and BMI 21.5 \u00b1 1.3 [kg\u00b7m-2]). The results indicate that although there is no statistical significance there is a tendency toward moderate correlation between the maximum power in the peck-deck exercise and maximum throwing velocity with both techniques (r = 0.50 p &gt; 0.05 and r = 0.66 p &gt; 0.05, technique 1 and technique 2 respectively). The correlations between maximum leg press power and the maximum height and maintained height of jumping were low and not significant (r = 0.31 p &gt; 0.05 and r = 0.00 p &gt; 0.05 respectively).
