The purpose of this study was to analyse the number of one-on-one situations and their relationship with shooting attempts and possession success. It included 54 boys and 67 girls (ages: M<\/em>=10.40, SD<\/em>=0.32) from six male and six female mini-basketball teams (aged 9-11). The sample consisted of 3,812 ball possessions in 24 matches. A nomothetic, ongoing and multidimensional design was used. The observation and recording instruments were constructed and eight observers were trained who subsequently viewed and recorded the matches that had been filmed. The mean number of one-on-one situations per ball possession was 0.62 (SD<\/em>=0.79). The findings showed statistically significant relationships between one-on-one situations and both criteria: shooting attempts (\u03c72<\/sup><\/em>=59,456; p\u2009<\/em>=\u2009,000) and possession success\u00a0 (\u03c72<\/sup><\/em>=\u20095,729; p\u2009<\/em>=\u2009,017). One-on-one situations should be encouraged in mini-basketball.<\/p>\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n
