Zatsiorsky (1995) defines explosive strength as \u201cthe ability to produce maximal force in minimal time\u201d. Several authors have shown the positive correlation between sprints and jump performance. However, not many studies have observed the relation between sprints and isometric strength. 24 junior sprinters participated in the study. Sprint tests, jump skills and isometric strength tests were carried out. Results indicated strong correlations between the results of sprint and jump tests. Correlations between jump height and isometric force were observed too. Correlations between isometric force and sprinting speed were observed only in 20 m sprints. No correlations between force and 100 m sprints were obtained.
