Abstract<\/h2>\n\n\n

The focus of our research is adapting sport to children. This paper seeks to suggest how children should be introduced to competition when beginning football. The observational methodology uses descriptive statistics as the general framework and the identification of temporary patterns for specific examples, and compares the technical and tactical development of under-eights in existing 5-a-side football and alternative 3-a-side football. It concludes that 3-a-side football is more appropriate for the real possibilities of under-eights.<\/p>\n\n
