The identification, selection and formation of the sport talent is one of the most\u00a0 important topic analyzed in several sport disciplines. In the present work we\u00a0 have used a longitudinal design and a descriptive quantitative methodology to\u00a0 understand the degree of participation and evolution of women basketball players\u00a0 in the different levels of the Spanish National team. We used a set of 163\u00a0 samples and analyzed the relationship in the type of qualitative participation\u00a0 at different levels. \u00a0Results shown a\u00a0 negative\u00a0 relationship, with statistical meaning, between the participation in official\u00a0 competition at young categories against upper levels. That is, those women\u00a0 players that play at high level in young categories did not arrived to play in\u00a0 the absolute Spanish National team in official competition at high\u00a0 level.<\/p>\n\n
