Esta atleta pas\u00f3 una tortuosa enfermedad en la que estuvo a punto de perder las dos piernas. Devers se propuso, como objetivo, no solamente volver a competir sino tambi\u00e9n subir al podium en unos Juegos Ol\u00edmpicos. Una atleta como Devers, aspirante a la prueba de velocidad en vallas, va a ganar la prueba de velocidad pura en una de las finales m\u00e1s ajustadas que se recuerdan. Esta gesta de la atleta nos record\u00f3 una colega suya, Wilma G.
