Considering the term &#8220;swimming&#8221; as insufficient to all the diversity of activities that exist in the aquatic medium, we propose a multiple classification of organisation in sporting aquatic activities and aquatic activities in general: maintenance-training, health, therapy and recreation. But, before the development of these ranges of performance, we propose a basic knowledge of the aquatic medium on the part of the child through programmes of educative aquatic activities.
