Sport seems to have originated in religion, and for a long time continued to have a religious character, perhaps for the common thread that religion like sport is essentially social, belonging to individuals and in their group a justification for existence. So much
so that individuals that profess or practice find themselves united by a kind of family links but a special nature, as through they form part of the same family.
In this article, we try to show, through an anthropological perspective, how sport, concretely football, serves as an escape valve for individual and collective tensions, using similar methods to those that we find in the more common religious phenomenon.<\/p>\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
