The ocular safety in sport is extremely important and must be taken into account by parents and trainers. The refractive defects should prevent anybody from practising a sport. It is important that the ophthalmologist play an active role and depending on the type of sport advise protective glasses or contact lenses. Moreover, some visual problems may affect the final sport performing and those cases if detected in time can be reoriented to other sports with less visual demand.<\/p>\n\n
