Llu\u00eds Montan\u00e9 i Mollfulleda, born in Sant Celoni 1905, was a comprehensive artist, framed in the nineteenth-century and mediterranian currents which are supported upon classic tradition of the Greek world. he studied in Fine arts School of Barcelona (Llotja) between 1921 and 1927, although before, very young, he worked for three years in the workshop of sculptor Eusebi Arnau (1864-1933). In the Llotja his second teacher, after his first year teacher, Parera, was Antoni Alsina i Amils (1864-1948), who, as we will comment, was the most appreciated. Montan\u00e9 wanted to know the world of his art and after a scholarship, in 1926, to make studies around Spain, wom by competition, in 1928, a pension from the Diputation of Barcelona to extend his studies in Italy, France, and Belgium. In Belgium he closely studied the art of Constantin Meu\u00adnier (1831-1905). In 1930, in Paris, he frequented the Grande Chaumi\u00e8re where you cold still breathe the ideas and guidelines of Auguste Rodin (1840-1917)and Antoine Bourdelle (1861-1929). He had previously been in Italy, in Florence and Rome, in the Spanish Fine Arts Academy, side by side with master Miquel Blay (1866-1936) where, while he improved his learning, could contemplate in the museums of Rome and Napoles, the sculptures of the classic authors. In 1931 he donated his piece Playful to the Generalitat de Catalunya, made during his passing through Europe.
