Aquest par\u00e0metre pot utilitzar-se per estimar les modificacions en la corba for\u00e7a-longitud d\u2019un grup muscular. L\u2019angle \u00f2ptim pot ser obtingut a partir de mesures en tests isom\u00e8trics o din\u00e0mics, i aix\u00f2 ha de ser tingut en compte a l\u2019hora d\u2019establir comparacions. L\u2019angle \u00f2ptim pot ser modificat tant de manera aguda com cr\u00f2nica. Els principals factors que el modifiquen s\u00f3n la intensitat i el volum de l\u2019exercici, la longitud muscular, el mode de contracci\u00f3 i la velocitat de contracci\u00f3. La capacitat per avaluar i modificar l\u2019angle \u00f2ptim pot utilitzar-se en programes de prevenci\u00f3 de lesions musculars, especialment en esports d\u2019equip com el futbol.
