Zatsiorsky (1995) la defineix com \u201cl\u2019habilitat per desenvolupar la m\u00e0xima for\u00e7a en la menor quantitat de temps\u201d. Les correlacions existents entre proves de velocitat i tests de salt han estat \u00e0mpliament observades. Tanmateix, les correlacions entre proves de velocitat i tests isom\u00e8trics estan menys estudiades. Una mostra de 24 velocistes de categoria j\u00fanior va ser sotmesa a proves de velocitat espec\u00edfica, tests de salt amb contramoviment i en profunditat, aix\u00ed com a un test isom\u00e8tric m\u00e0xim per a la musculatura extensora del turmell. Els resultats mostren fortes relacions entre els tests de carrera i els de salt, aix\u00ed com d\u2019aquests \u00faltims amb els de dinamometria. D\u2019altra banda, nom\u00e9s amb el test de 20 metres s\u2019obtenen correlacions amb variables del test isom\u00e8tric, sense que es trobin correlacions amb la marca en 100 metres llisos.
