Els efectes de l&#8217;exercici f\u00edsic es produeixen a llarg termini per la qual cosa els programes d&#8217;entrenament han de ser, en el possible, permanents i sense per\u00edodes d&#8217;inactivitat massa llargs. Alhora, els beneficis de l&#8217;exercici tenen relaci\u00f3 amb el nivell d&#8217;activitat f\u00edsica. S&#8217;ha demostrat, per\u00f2, que caminar amb pas vigor\u00f3s exerceix efectes sobre la condici\u00f3 f\u00edsica semblants als que exerceixen tres sessions d&#8217;entrenament a la setmana de cursa cont\u00ednua. L&#8217;entrenament f\u00edsic supervisat en pacients que han sofert un infart de miocardi t\u00e9, aix\u00ed mateix, efectes beneficiosos demostrats en diversos estudis de car\u00e0cter multicentric. El risc de l&#8217;activitat f\u00edsica en aquests pacients \u00e9s m\u00ednim si s&#8217;adapta el nivell de l&#8217;entrenament a cada situaci\u00f3.
