Per la seva definici\u00f3 de paper destinat a ser enganxat i exhibit al carrer, escassos s\u00f3n els exemplars que ens han arribat intactes, tret de les exepcions que ens han perm\u00e8s els col leccionistes. Cassandre, pseud\u00f2nim d&#8217;Adolphe Jean Marie Mouron, cartellista ucra\u00efn\u00e8s afincat a Par\u00eds vers els anys 20, afirmava que -la pintura era un fi en si mateixa, mentre que el cartell era un mitj\u00e0 per a un fi\u00bb. Ara b\u00e9, aquest mitj\u00e0 (de comunicaci\u00f3) tamb\u00e9 esdev\u00e9 un fi en ell mateix.
