Les persones que mantenen uns nivells<br> raonables d\u2019activitat, especialment en l\u2019edat adulta i en la vellesa, tenen menys probabilitats de patir malalties cr\u00f2niques o una<br> mort prematura. D\u2019altra banda, cal considerar els costos econ\u00f2mics en termes de malaltia, absentisme laboral o sistemes de salut.<br> Es calcula que els costos m\u00e8dics de les persones actives s\u00f3n un trenta per cent inferiors als que ocasionen les inactives. Podem<br> afirmar que l\u2019activitat f\u00edsica contribueix a la prolongaci\u00f3 de la vida i a millorar-ne la qualitat a trav\u00e9s de beneficis fisiol\u00f2gics,<br> psicol\u00f2gics i socials.
